Low Gravity Solids
Low gravity solids (LGS) is a type of drilling mud solid having a lower density than the barite or hematite that is used to weight up a drilling fluid. LGS includes drill cuttings and the added bentonite clay. Solids are reported in terms of lbm/bbl or vol.%. %. Low-gravity solids are normally assumed to have a density of 2.60 g/cm3.
