Displacement Efficiency in Cement Job Demystified
, president of PVI, gave a presentation entitled "Displacement Efficiency in Cement Job Demystified" to SPE - Gulf Coast Section - Northside Study Group at the Greenspoint Club, Houston, Texas on March 10, 2015. This presentation showed the R&D on the assessment of the risk of mud channeling as a function of fluid properties, flow rate, wellbore geometry, and well path. The goal was to address the risks and optimize the displacement efficiency in order to deliver a cement sheath to be able to retain annular-seal integrity.
